Maria “Marifer” Aceves

Dedicated Dallas County Attorney

Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Marifer Aceves’ background is rich with diversity and a familiarity with different cultures, religions, and ethnicities that imbue her with a heightened level of empathy and understanding her clients appreciate. Marifer moved to the United States when she was three years old, upon her father’s acceptance to a pediatric residency, and grew up primarily in the Dallas area.

In 2010, she graduated from Southern Methodist University with a major in International Studies and two minors in History and Political Science. Marifer was on the International Law Review, and graduated from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2013 and passed the Texas Bar that same year. She is licensed to practice law in the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.

Marifer’s dedication to her clients and to her craft are evident in her ambitious work ethic. Within her first three years of practicing law, she argued and successfully defended against two Daubert motions, argued and won multiple motions for summary judgment and has taken over forty plaintiff depositions, several witness depositions, and defended expert depositions. In addition to her level of skill and hard work, Marifer is also bi-lingual, allowing her to communicate with many more individuals who may seek her help.

As an active member of her community, Marifer currently serves as the Secretary for the Board of Trustees for The Highlands School. She is also the founder and liaison for The Highlands School Alumni Association.
