Bandido Outlaw Motorcycle Gang arrests
Out of 40 members and associates of the Bandido Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, 28 of them were arrested in Dallas, Texas, on drug charges and weapons charges.
The charges included the following:
- Multiple counts for conspiracy to possess and distribute heroin, meth and cocaine
- One count of possessing a machine gun
The cities where the Bandidos were arrested include Dallas, San Antonio and Denver.
One member or associate of the biker gang is "on the loose," according to the report.
In Texas, an accusation of distribution of drugs and conspiracy to distribute will likely lead to federal drug charges, and the ultimate punishment will depend on several factors, such as whether or not interstate distribution and weapons involved.
Interstate distribution and weapons are both examples of "enhancements" that can increase the severity of the punishment upon conviction.
On the other hand, the sentencing guidelines in Texas also allow for "downward departure" in terms of punishment - which often accounts for the actual role you played in the events leading up to your arrest (a role that often is much different from the story the authorities tell about you).
